Faith In Action
In our school we always think of how we can serve and help others; putting our school values into action. Older pupils are play leaders and buddies for younger pupils; our Worship Group meet on a regular basis and help with our Collective Worships and termly Eucharist. Once a year we offer the opportunity for children to be baptised during our Leavers Service at St. Mary’s Church.
Our School Council, Rights Respect and Eco groups meet regularly to support school leadership and improvement as well as reminding us of our Christian responsibility to look after our world.
The School Council decides on a range of charities to support over the course of the year and plan events for the whole school. Some of the charities we have supported have included:
- Chichester Food Bank through our Harvest Appeal
- Poppy sales and World War Two evacuation sleepover for The Royal British Legion
- Nagybereg Village School in Ukraine
- Comic and Sports Relief
- Children in Need
- Chestnut Tree House
Our active school choir has participated in a number of local events: for example sharing the Christian message through song at our annual Boys Memorial Service, Petworth Fair, Literacy Festival and numerous events held with our locality of schools. In addition we also sing for the elderly residents at Rotherlea Nursing Home and Cottage Hospital at Christmas time.
