Children will experience a broad curriculum through the study of Core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Religious Education and Foundation Subjects: History, Geography, Design and Technology, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education. Pupils develop their capability in Computing through the use of our IT suite and ICT tools that support their learning in all subjects. Every child in the school visits our Forest School, which we use to develop the children’s understanding of the world around them as they participate in a range of curriculum based activities. Every child in Key Stage Two will learn the guitar with our peripatetic music teacher.
Personal & Social Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship is taught discretely and linked to other curriculum areas, which has enabled us to gain our Silver Award as we are a UNICEF Silver Rights Respecting school . Provision is enriched by educational visits and outdoor learning in order to provide first-hand learning experiences for the pupils and to reinforce the PSHE programme. Whole school collective worships and assemblies are used to promote PSHE. The school recognises that the partnership it has with parents is paramount in ensuring the progress and development of each child.
